Liverpool explore possibilities of acquiring Valencia keeper Mamardashvili

Giorgi Mamardashvili, the goal keeper for Valencia, is being considered by Liverpool for a possible deal.

Contrary to popular belief, a deal is not yet close to being agreed upon. It's understood that Liverpool's investigation into Mamardashvili, who represents Alisson, has no influence on Anfield's goalkeeping predicament. 

Alisson is the team's top player and always will be. However, Liverpool is researching prospective backup goalkeepers in case Alisson retires or goes on, and they think Mamardashvili has a lot of promise. 

If Liverpool were to make a move for the Georgia international during current transfer window, it is unclear if the 23-year-old would sign with the Premier League team. Or, Mamardashvili might go on loan to a different Premier League team.
