Lagos Speaker Obasa , celebrates Adefulire at 65

Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has congratulated Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the former deputy governor of Lagos, on her 65th birthday. Years after serving the State as Deputy Governor, Obasa called Orelope-Adefulire a shining star who still makes Lagos proud in a statement released by his media office. According to Speaker Obasa, Princess Orelope-Adefulire has continuously distinguished herself as someone deserving of praise for her leadership style, dedication to duty, and commitment to whatever tasks assigned to her. “As the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), our former Deputy Governor is renowned for having developed and carried out numerous strategic intervention programs that have contributed to Nigeria’s development and advancement,” the Speaker stated.

“The Federal Government has made interventions through her office in the areas of women’s empowerment, child support, and the establishment of skill-acquisition centers located around the nation. It is documented that Princess Orelope-Adefulire co-sponsored the Lagos State Domestic Violence Law and the Child Rights Law in her capacity as Deputy Governor of Lagos (2007). She is credited for helping to build 22 centers for the unemployed to acquire functional skills. Her dedication to a better Nigeria is still evident in the 176-bed transit home for victims of abuse and domestic violence.
