Lagos Speaker celebrates Orelope-Adefulire at 65
Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated former Deputy Governor of Lagos, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, as she marks her 65th birthday.
The Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa joined friends and relations to celebrate the birthday of Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire clocking 65. Obasa explained her great achievements that benefit Lagos and Nigeria at large. Orelope-Adefulire, who used to be a Deputy Governor of Lagos, now the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs. Speaking further, Obasa described her as a strong leader, who has displayed serious focus and determination in pursuing and sponsoring quite impactful programs such as women's affairs or structured support to children, or skill acquisition programs.
Some of her achievements in Lagos include co-sponsorship of the Child Rights Law and the Domestic Violence Law as well as the creation of other social interventionist measures such as skills acquisition centres and homes for victims of domestic abuse. Obasa described her as a “shining star” and a pride of Nigeria for her unrelenting fight for education, economic prosperity, and sustainable development on national and global fronts.
