L.A.X, born Damilola Afolabi, burst onto the scene under the mentorship of Starboy himself, Wizkid, after signing with Starboy Entertainment in 2013. His breakout hit “Caro” alongside Wizkid became an instant sensation. This was followed by other successful collaborations like “Ginger” and “Nobody”.

After parting ways with Starboy Entertainment, L.A.X launched his own record label, Rasaki Music Group. He continued to push his unique blend of Afrobeats, Afro-fusion, and dancehall sounds. His previous albums “Zaza Vibes” (2020) and “No Bad Vibes” (2023), solidified his position in the industry and earned him a dedicated fanbase.

Despite his talent, L.A.X has faced a few controversies along the way. One of the most talked-about incidents was his alleged fallout with Wizkid. This situation fueled rumors that the Starboy CEO was not fully supportive of his career after their collaboration. However, L.A.X has since debunked these claims, emphasizing that he and Wizkid remain on good terms.

In 2022, L.A.X also sparked debates when he declared himself one of the most underrated artists in Nigeria. With “Nobody Like Zaza” about to drop, the album will put the afrobeat giant once again on the map. Fans are anticipating to know what he will do on the album.
