“Kindness go turn you to mumu” – Adekunle Gold
Adekunle Gold sparks debate with his tweet claiming kindness can make one appear foolish, suggesting a sprinkle of wickedness is needed to thrive.
Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold recently stirred debate with his take on kindness, claiming it can make one appear foolish in the real world.
Sharing his perspective on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the singer said it took him some time to arrive at this conclusion. He further suggested that a touch of "wickedness" is necessary to succeed.
“Took me a while, but I can confirm now that in this life, you need a sprinkle of wickedness to thrive. Kindness go turn you to mumu,” he tweeted.
While some fans agreed with his stance, others were quick to challenge it. One follower, identified as Oludotun Sunday, strongly disagreed, calling the analogy a “big fat lie.”
He argued that truly kind people never regret their kindness or aspire to be wicked, stating, “Kind people are kind and never regret their kindness. Only wicked people can be two-faced.”
The exchange has since sparked a lively conversation online, with opinions divided on whether kindness is a strength or a vulnerability in today’s world.
