Katsina Police Arrest Terrorism Financier and Seven Suspected Rapists in Major Crackdown

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended a suspected terrorism financier, Aminu Hassan, for allegedly supporting armed bandits terrorizing Danmusa Local Government Area and surrounding regions.

According to police spokesman Abubakar Sadiq, the 25-year-old suspect, from Dundubus village in Daja LGA, was arrested during a routine patrol along Yan-tumaki and Kankara highway on November 19th. He was found with two pairs of military uniforms concealed in a polythene bag.

Further investigations led to the arrest of three more suspects: Lawal M. Ahmad (29), Isma’il Dalhatu (24), and Shafi’u Adamu (28), all hailing from Kaduna State. Recovered from the suspects were 14 military uniforms and one police uniform, believed to be intended for armed bandits’ criminal activities.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their crimes. Police Commissioner Aliyu Abubakar Musa commended officers for their professionalism and urged the public to continue sharing useful information to aid in the fight against terrorism and banditry.

In a separate operation, the police also arrested seven suspected rapists on November 25th in Kaita LGA. The suspects, identified as Salisu Ibrahim, Sabiu Abdulkarim, Nuhu Halliru, Rabe Malam, Hamza Abdullahi, Iliyasu Ibrahim, and Idris Abdullahi, reportedly lured four minors (aged 13-14) to the house of one of the suspects for repeated acts of sexual assault.

All suspects have confessed to their crimes and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded. The police continue to call on residents to provide actionable intelligence to support ongoing efforts to curb crime in Katsina State.
