Just In: Bomb explosion in Nigeria
An improvised explosive device that was put is thought to be the source of the explosion that happened at the well-known Buni Yadi market in Yobe State's Gujba Local Government Area.
According to Channels Television, a girl was hurt in an incident that occurred on Friday at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to Buni resident Ali Hassan.
We don't yet know the girl's name or her present health status.
Captain Muhammad Shehu, the spokesman for Sector 2 Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai, verified the incident as well, stating that the Army found and successfully defused another IED that had been put in the market.
He went on to say that the lone explosion victim was being treated at one of Buni Yadi's medical facilities.
He emphasized that the act was not a suicide bombing, but rather a planted IED.
The most badly damaged local government area in Yobe State during the two years that it was under the control of Boko Haram insurgents was Buni Yadi, which is 54 kilometers from Damaturu, the state capital.
