Joe Igbokwe asks Davido to retract statement about economy being in shambles
APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe urges singer Davido to retract his remarks on Nigeria's economy, stating the country played a key role in his success.
All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe has expressed disappointment in singer Davido for his recent remarks about the state of Nigeria's economy. The DMW boss had advised Nigerians in America against returning home, citing the dire economic situation as one of the reasons.
Reacting to the statement, Igbokwe, who referred to Davido as his "in-law," urged the superstar to retract his comments, emphasizing that Nigeria played a significant role in his rise to fame.
In a strongly worded message, Igbokwe wrote: “My in-law Davido has made me sad by telling the world in America that Nigeria’s economy is in shambles. This is very sad. I will advise him to retract the statement asap. Nigeria made Davido. QED.”
The clash between the APC stalwart and the music icon has stirred discussions online, with opinions divided over Davido's candid assessment of the economy and Igbokwe's call for retraction.
