In a new Netflix special, the 56-year-old actor shared the details of his medical emergency, explaining that it all started with a severe headache on April 11, 2023.
Foxx recounted asking his friend for an aspirin to relieve the pain, only to lose consciousness before he could take it. “I went out, and I do not remember 20 days,” he said, explaining that he “blacked out” and woke up to find himself in a wheelchair, unable to walk.
Admitted to Piedmont Hospital, Foxx was diagnosed with a brain bleed that triggered the stroke. He described the incident as a “mystery,” saying that doctors still don’t know exactly what caused the medical emergency. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his condition, Foxx’s recovery journey has been an inspiring testament to resilience.
