Jada Pollock Speaks Out Against "Baby Mama" Label and Highlights Her Achievements
Jada Pollock, talent manager and mother of Wizkid's children, addresses the challenges of being reduced to a "baby mama" label, emphasizing her entrepreneurial accomplishments and contributions to Afrobeat
Jada Pollock, renowned talent manager and mother of Wizkid's children, has opened up about the struggles of being unfairly labeled a "baby mama."
In a recent interview with BET UK, Pollock expressed frustration at being defined solely by her personal relationship with Wizkid rather than her professional achievements.
She recalled how blogs diminished her efforts after Wizkid’s Grammy win, focusing on her role as a mother while disregarding her contributions as an entrepreneur and manager.
“When Wizkid won a Grammy, I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come. They published it, but the caption read, ‘Wizkid baby mama.’ That narrative erases the fact that I’m an entrepreneur and a hardworking businesswoman. I’m not just a mother; I’ve helped build a legacy,” she explained.
Pollock’s remarks shed light on the broader challenges women face in being recognized for their professional endeavors beyond personal labels.
