Iyabo Ojo speaks on accusations of involvement in Mohbad’s demise
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo addresses accusations of seeking clout and involvement in Mohbad's death, emphasizing her genuine commitment to justice for the late singer.
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo recently opened up about the backlash she has faced for her activism in the ongoing quest for justice for late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. In a candid interview on *Glass House* with AY Makun, Iyabo revealed that she has been accused of using Mohbad’s tragic death for personal gain, and shockingly, some even suggested she had a hand in his passing.
Denying the baseless allegations, Iyabo expressed her genuine commitment to seeing justice served. "I am genuinely interested in getting justice for Mohbad," she stated firmly, dismissing claims of seeking clout or political favors.
Reflecting on the accusations, the actress said, "They even insinuated that maybe I killed Mohbad. I wasn’t around when he died. I didn’t really know him well. Our only encounter was at the One Africa Music Fest. He seemed like a cool guy, focused on his music."
Iyabo also responded to claims that her advocacy was financially motivated. "If I killed him, why would I push for his body to be exhumed for an autopsy?" she asked. Despite the criticism and rumors, Iyabo remains unshaken in her pursuit of truth and justice for the late singer, emphasizing that her activism is rooted in sincerity and compassion.
