I'm apologizing for saying "If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven"- Pastor Adeboye
Pastor E.A Adeboye apologizes for his previous statement about not making it to heaven if you don't pay tithe, clarifying that the Bible emphasizes peace and holiness as requirements for seeing God
During a sermon the General overseer of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye stated,
"I’m apologizing for saying,'If you don’t pay tithe, you won’t make it to heaven.' I’m sorry, that’s wrong, and it’s not in the Bible. What the Bible says is, 'Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see God."
This comes after he had received a lot of backlash on social media for saying such. He also stated that people should give "violently" and not limit themselves to the 10% of their income
