I’ll stand by Wunmi until proven guilty by law — Iyabo Ojo
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo declares her support for Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi, amid ongoing controversy, urging evidence-based investigation and rejecting social media judgments.
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has openly declared her unwavering support for Omowunmi, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his death. Mohbad passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023, sparking widespread speculation and accusations, with some pointing fingers at Omowunmi.
Despite the cloud of suspicion, Iyabo Ojo, in a candid Instagram live session, made it clear that her loyalty remains with Omowunmi until proven guilty by law. She urged those accusing Omowunmi to present any solid evidence to the appropriate authorities, rather than fueling speculation online.
"A lot of people are angry that I’m supporting Wunmi," Ojo said. "But there is no concrete evidence that she is guilty. Until the law proves her guilty, I will continue to support her. If they like, they should drag and curse me. I will not stop being nice to her. Until the judge says otherwise with evidence, proof beyond every reasonable doubt."
She also called out netizens, encouraging them to bring any credible information forward to aid the investigation, rather than resorting to social media judgments. For Ojo, the priority is ensuring justice is served through the proper legal channels, not through public opinion.
