I wrote hit songs for Wizkid – Skales
Skales reveals he co-wrote several hit songs for Wizkid during their time at EME, including 'Wiz Party,' while also acknowledging Wizkid's contributions to his music.
Popular Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, has made a surprising revelation about his early days with fellow artist Wizkid at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). Speaking on the show *Curiosity Made Me Ask* with host Bae U Barbie, Skales disclosed that he wrote several hit songs for Wizkid during their time at the label, including tracks from Wizkid's debut album *Super Star*. One notable contribution was co-writing the bonus track "Wiz Party."
Skales clarified that their collaboration was mutual, with Wizkid also contributing to his music. "Back in EME, we were a team, so we used to write songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid, and he also wrote songs for me. He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me, and I wrote his song ‘Wiz Party,’" Skales shared.
Signed in the early 2010s alongside Wizkid by R&B singer and EME executive Banky W, Skales described their time at EME as a period of collective teamwork that helped shape their careers.
However, both artists eventually left EME after falling out with Banky W. In a past interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Banky W revealed that Wizkid still owed the label three albums based on his original contract.
Skales’ revelations add new insights into the creative dynamics behind some of Nigeria’s biggest hit songs and highlight the collaborative spirit that existed between him and Wizkid during their rise to fame.
