I started getting views on TikTok when I began going live with my bad English – Peller
Content creator Peller shares how using bad English helped him gain traction on TikTok, revealing his unique strategy to connect with audiences and grow his platform.
Popular content creator Peller has opened up about his unconventional approach to gaining traction on TikTok, explaining why he intentionally uses bad English in his content.
In a candid discussion on the *Honest Bunch Podcast* with Nedu Wazobia, Husband Material, and other hosts, Peller revealed that his initial attempts at creating content in polished English failed to garner significant attention. With only about 10 views per video—most of which came from family members—he decided to switch strategies.
“When I started with good English, nobody was watching. But when I began using bad English during my live sessions, the views shot up to over 2,000,” he said.
Peller explained that this shift not only attracted more viewers but also highlighted the kind of relatable and humorous content that resonates with online audiences. He jokingly added that to "blow" on TikTok, one must “act like a dull person.”
Interestingly, Peller admitted that the strategy has impacted his ability to speak proper English naturally. Despite this, he continues to embrace his unique style, leveraging humor and authenticity to connect with his audience and grow his platform.
His story has sparked conversations about the evolving nature of social media content and the lengths creators go to in order to captivate their audience.
