Husband of Viral passport woman begs says Its's a Skit
Man in viral video clarifies that his wife did not tear his passport, revealing the incident was a staged skit.
The man featured in a viral video, where his wife appeared to tear up his Nigerian passport, has come forward to clarify that the entire incident was staged as part of a skit. In a video shared on their family’s Instagram page, he, alongside his children, pleaded for forgiveness and understanding from the public. He emphasized that what was torn in the video was not a passport, assuring viewers that his passport remains intact.
He explained, "We were reenacting someone else's story, and it wasn't meant to be taken literally. I had no idea the video would gain so much attention." He also reassured that they would never disrespect the laws of Nigeria by destroying a passport, reiterating their status as law-abiding citizens.
This clarification comes after the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) launched an investigation into the video, which had sparked concerns over the apparent destruction of a Nigerian Standard Passport at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos. The NIS had identified the individuals involved and had summoned them for further investigation. The Service warned that if the video had been real, the actions would have violated the Immigration Act of 2015, which carries strict penalties for such offenses.
The man concluded by asking the public not to blow the situation out of proportion, reinforcing their respect for Nigeria's laws and their intention to remain good citizens.
