How my death rumours troubled my family – Yinka Quadri
Yinka Quadri opens up about the emotional impact of death rumors on his family, sharing how the false news caused stress and anxiety, especially for his children living abroad.
Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has opened up about the emotional toll that death rumors had on his family. In June, a viral report falsely claimed that the 65-year-old actor had passed away, sending shockwaves through his fans and loved ones. Reacting swiftly, Quadri took to Instagram to dismiss the rumors, reassuring his followers that he was "alive and well."
In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Quadri expressed his disappointment with those responsible for spreading the false news. He explained how the baseless rumor caused unnecessary stress and anxiety within his family. "When I saw the news, I said, 'Weldone, you content creators,'" he shared. "Although no one would be happy when people spread death rumors about them, I leave the person behind the rumors to God’s judgment."
Quadri highlighted the impact on his family, especially his children, who live abroad. Despite regular communication, the rumor caused them immense distress. “They were like ‘I still spoke to Daddy last week.’ It got to a point where they started calling constantly—morning, afternoon, and night—to check on my well-being,” he revealed.
The veteran actor’s candid reflection underscores the emotional toll that fake news can have on individuals and their families, no matter how far removed they are.
