"He may stay and not play for 20 years" - Maresca humiliates Raheem Sterling

The Blues have come under fire for their extravagant summer spending, which has resulted in their roster ballooning to 44 players. Joao Felix, a winger for Atletico Madrid, was added to Chelsea's roster on Wednesday for a reported €50 million. Felix's arrival virtually marked the end of Sterling's Chelsea tenure. In response to Sterling's exclusion from the starting lineup for the season's first matchup against Manchester City, Maresca stated that the Englishman had no future at the team. Following the omission, Sterling's team released a statement asking for clarification over the player's standing with the team.

On Wednesday, Maresca made it quite apparent that Sterling was not part of his intentions. According to the Italian manager, Chilwell was in a similar situation. However, what made people take notice was the ruthless way he broke the news. What was said by Maresca? "I simply aim to be truthful," Maresca remarked. "I told Raheem before the Man City game that he wouldn't receive many playing time with us.I mentioned Chilly as a kind guy who will struggle due to his job.I'm not saying Raheem isn't a talented player; rather, I just like other types of wingers." "When Raheem asked for clarification through his representatives after the match, I didn't see him."
