Armed bandits have struck again in Benue State, tragically killing a man and abducting his daughter along with two teenagers in Agatu Local Government Area. The victim, identified as John Ajaka, was fatally attacked while working on his farm in Ogwule Ankpa Village, Ogwule Ogbaulu Ward. His daughter, Owakoyi John, and two other young teens were forcibly taken by the assailants.
The horrifying incident, which took place on Tuesday, was confirmed by the Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council, James Melvin Ejeh, who condemned the attack as "callous, despicable, and wicked." Ejeh vowed that security agencies, already in pursuit of the criminals, would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
In his statement, Ejeh reassured the Ogwule community and Agatu at large of their security, promising that the council is closing in on the criminals. He expressed confidence that the abducted girls would soon be released, urging residents to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands. Ejeh emphasized that the government is implementing strategic measures to resolve the ongoing security crisis in the region.
