Gunmen attack Military checkpoint at rural community in southeastern Nigeria
Despite the calm and tranquility in the southeastern part of Nigeria, following the protest in other regions, gunmen today, unleashed attack at a military checkpoint in a rural community in the southeast.
Unidentified gunmen have launched an attack on a military checkpoint located in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi, on the Amangwu axis of the Amasiri-Owutu-edda route.
DSP Joshua Ukandu, verified the event on Friday. The state's Police Command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO). Ukandu stated that the incident happened in the region early on Friday morning.
He said that we have information from the Owutu Police Division that some thugs attacked a military checkpoint early on Friday. If there were casualties, that much is yet unknown.
He continued, "The attack was executed by alleged gunmen in the vicinity who rode motorcycles.
