Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has dismissed allegations of land grabbing, labeling the accusations as misinformation and pointing fingers at the true perpetrators. Speaking in Ibadan, the governor clarified concerns surrounding the Circular Road project and other state initiatives, emphasizing the project's transformative vision as Nigeria’s first motorway with a 32-kilometer stretch and minimal exit points to boost corridor development.
Makinde highlighted his administration’s achievements, citing improved budget performance since 2019, which has facilitated consistent project execution and enhanced the state’s livability.
Addressing the controversial Tax Reform Bill, the governor supported the National Economic Council’s decision to pause its progress for broader consultations, stressing the need for alignment on national policies.
Refuting misconceptions about his role and governance, Makinde stated, “I am not a land grabber. Those accusing me are the real culprits.” He further commended past administrations for their efforts but noted the need for innovative approaches to achieve different results.
