Governor Makinde Promises Minimum Wage Adjustment and Extended Wage Award for Teachers

Governor Makinde assured primary school teachers during the 2024 World Teachers Day event that negotiations on the minimum wage adjustment would begin soon. He announced that the wage award payment would be extended for three months, from October to December, but would be replaced by the new minimum wage once negotiations are complete.
Makinde emphasized the importance of teachers in building the nation and promised to prioritize their welfare. He urged teachers to continue supporting his administration to improve the state's education system.
The State NUT Chairman, Raji Oladimeji, thanked the governor for his commitment to workers' welfare and asked for the swift recruitment and posting of new teachers to enhance service delivery.
