Google releases improved Pixel phones in an effort to use AI technology

Google (GOOGL.O) launches a new tab as it pushes to integrate AI into its hardware, Google on Tuesday introduced a portfolio of new Pixel smartphones with deeper integrations of the technology.
One of the updates is a tool exclusive to Pixels that allows users to search for data included in screenshots. Additionally, Android users may now ask questions or create content by bringing up Google's chatbot, Gemini, as an overlay on top of another app. As for AI, "there have been too many coming-soons, too many promises, and not enough real-world helpfulness when it comes to AI, which is why today we're getting real," according to Rick Osterloh, senior vice president of devices and services at Google. He declared, "We're fully in the Gemini era," to reporters, analysts, executives, and engineers.
Another convention was broken at the event: unlike every previous time since the device's 2016 launch, Google decided to reveal the newest Pixel smartphones in the summer rather than the fall. Lead analyst at Techsponential Avi Greengart remarked, "I've been to a lot of Google events, and this was not only the most elaborate, but it was one of the most complete." He claimed that Google had proven to be a leader in artificial intelligence. The event's earlier scheduling is Google's most recent attempt to match competitors' incorporation of AI technologies into consumer-facing goods. It also occurs ahead of Apple's (AAPL.O) scheduled September debut of a new iPhone.
A voice conversation capability was among the new features of Gemini that Google personnel demonstrated in real time. However, it required three attempts and two devices to correctly cross-reference an image of a concert poster with the calendar app. Starting at $799, the base 6.3-inch display model of the Pixel 9 will cost $100 more than the previous generation.
Later in August, shipping for both the 6.8-inch Pixel 9 Pro XL and this will start, according to a company representative. September will see the release of the foldable Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Pixel 9 Pro, which has additional capabilities such a better camera.
