Frederick Leonard Slams Critics Over Marriage Scrutiny: "Leave Us Alone!"
Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard addresses bloggers and critics meddling in his marriage to Peggy Ovire, emphasizing their privacy and calling out false narratives.
Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has issued a stern warning to critics and bloggers he accuses of intruding into his personal life and marriage to actress Peggy Ovire. Taking to Instagram on December 26, 2024, Leonard expressed his frustration over ongoing speculations and false claims surrounding their union.
"Dear idle and useless bloggers with your empty-headed followers, leave me and my wife's name out of your contaminated blogs," he began. "This marriage is NOT YOUR BUSINESS. What goes on in this marriage will not make your lives better or put food on your table."
Leonard criticized the societal focus on his private life, attributing it to misplaced energy. "Beyond bad leadership, poverty is at an all-time high because stupidity is on the rise. People are channeling their energy and attention wrongly. Leave us alone! Since we got married, you’ve been sniffing around like hungry dogs looking for what you will never find."
He dismissed rumors about their marital dynamics, including Peggy’s decision to post photos without him or not wear her wedding ring. "We do not owe this toxic social media space any explanation for our actions or a sneak peek into our home. Marriage is not slavery! She can post photos without me, not wear her ring—I bought the ring, and I’m not complaining. She can go on vacation without me, wear short dresses because she’s stunning, and live her life happily. It’s not your business."
Leonard also addressed criticism of his professional choices, clarifying that his career as an actor would remain unaffected by public opinion. "I’m not going to stop kissing in movies because I’m married or because of what unenlightened people think. No professional actor anywhere in the world does that."
Concluding his statement, Leonard made it clear that he and Peggy would no longer entertain such criticisms. "This will be the last time The Leonards address blogs and social media idiocy. If you continue in your folly after this, my wife and I will just relax and laugh as you become a source of entertainment for us. Peggy and I are different! Read that again. Leave us alone! I love my wife, and my wife loves me."
The passionate post has garnered support from fans and colleagues, who commended Leonard for defending his marriage and privacy.
