Four grandchildren, grandma die after taking pap, fish in Ondo

A family tragedy has struck the Gaga Area of Oke-Aro in Akure, Ondo State, as a grandmother and four of her grandchildren died under mysterious circumstances after consuming a meal of pap and fish. The heartbreaking incident has left the local community in deep mourning.

According to a family source, the grandmother had prepared the meal, which is suspected to have been either poisoned or contaminated. Two surviving grandchildren remain hospitalized, battling the aftermath of what is believed to be a fatal meal. 

A neighbor named Isaac expressed concern that despite visits from police and government officials to the home, no official investigation has been initiated. Conflicting reports suggest the family may have eaten fish from a pond in their compound, raising suspicions of contamination.

However, Police Public Relations Officer Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya disclosed that the tragic event had not been formally reported to any police station, adding to the confusion and urgency for answers in this mysterious case.
