Nigerians who are considering a trip to the UK have been advised by the Federal Government to exercise caution due to ongoing violent protests in the country following the recent deaths of three young girls at a performance. According to a statement released on Monday by the ministry of foreign affairs in Nigeria, attacks on law enforcement officials and infrastructural damage are signs that the violence in the European nation has reached "dangerous proportions." Amb. Eche Abu-Obe, the ministry's spokesperson, made this claim. "There is an increased risk of violence and disorder occasioned by the recent riots in the UK, stemming from the killing of 3 young girls at a concert," the Nigerian Foreign Affairs Ministry's travel advisory states in part.
"Remain away from busy places and big gatherings." Always be mindful of yourself and on the lookout. "Get in touch with the High Commission by phone at +442078391244, or via email at hc@nigeriahc.org.uk, to share information that may be of interest."
In the UK, there has been a surge in far-right and anti-immigrant violence in towns and cities. Men wearing masks frequently engage in violent altercations with police while shouting anti-immigrant chants, destroying mosques and hotels that house asylum seekers, and wreaking havoc. Far-right racists rioting in British towns and cities have been forewarned by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer that they will "face swift justice and the full force of the law."
"I guarantee, you will regret it," the prime minister said to those who were behind the horrible scenes in Hull, Halifax, Liverpool, London, Southport, and Rotherham in an uncompromising message to the country. Following the violent incidents on Saturday, over 100 persons have been placed under arrest.
