FCMB makes fresh appointment

Ademola Adebise, an esteemed figure in the Nigerian financial sector, has joined the board of directors of First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

The bank's SheVentures program also aims to combat gender imbalance in Nigeria's business community.

Adebise's hiring, according to a statement from the bank, signifies a major boost to the company's leadership team and the appointment of a seasoned banker with more than three decades of experience. The appointment is subject to Central Bank of Nigeria approval.

Adebise combines technological know-how with commercial savvy, having earned an MBA from Lagos Management School and a BSc in computer science from the University of Lagos. In addition, the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria have named him a Fellow. 

He has completed executive programmes at prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and Harvard Business School,’’ the statement read.

Meanwhile, by providing interest-free loans of up to N10 million and tailored support to female entrepreneurs in the export and agricultural sectors, the bank said, it is fostering a more inclusive economic environment.
