Etim Effiong Reflects on Managing Female Admirers and Setting Boundaries in Marriage

Nollywood actor Etim Effiong recently opened up to his wife, Toyosi, about how he manages the challenges of maintaining boundaries and handling the attention from female admirers.

During the celebration of their 7th wedding anniversary, the couple reflected on personal growth and the evolving dynamics of their relationship. Recalling a candid conversation from seven years ago, Toyosi asked her husband, “Do you have measures in place to safeguard yourself from the wildness and craziness?”

Etim responded thoughtfully, sharing how he has matured in dealing with such situations:

“The simple answer to the question is I have measures in place, and I have always had measures in place. I guess the toolbox is getting better measures as I grow.”

The actor emphasized the importance of self-awareness and boundaries, explaining how he has worked to overcome his “saviour complex”:

“I’ve learned to have boundaries in place and how to deal with my saviour complex. I cannot be there to save everyone who needs help; I cannot be their emotional support, the love of their lives, and their saviour. As I grow older, I have been able to handle this.”
