Enioluwa Criticizes JAMB Over Exam Issues: A Call for Better Educational Standards

Influencer Enioluwa has voiced strong criticism against the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) regarding the handling of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). His concerns highlight systemic issues within Nigeria’s educational assessment process, urging for improved standards and accountability.

Enioluwa’s critique centers on the abnormalities that have become normalized within the educational system, particularly with the UTME. He points out the early morning examination timings, such as 6:30 AM, which he argues are inappropriate for young adults and teenagers. This scheduling, combined with technical glitches and organizational oversights, has led to significant disruptions and frustrations for students.

Despite a substantial budget of 18 billion Naira (approximately 11 million dollars), Enioluwa questions the lack of adequate preparation and execution. He argues that with such resources, JAMB should be able to implement a seamless, computer-based testing system that provides immediate results and detailed feedback, including match sheets and explanations for incorrect answers. The failure to do so, he suggests, is not a technical issue but a choice reflecting negligence.

The repercussions of these issues are profound. Enioluwa mentions the delay in result processing, which has left 1.1 million students waiting, potentially affecting their university admissions. He also criticizes the decision to have students rewrite exams amidst other compulsory examinations, prioritizing organizational convenience over student well-being. This situation exacerbates the stress and uncertainty for students already under pressure.

Enioluwa laments the cultural acceptance of these abnormalities as the new normal. He references the public reaction to JAMB’s registrar crying on national television, where instead of outrage, there was applause for showing emotion. This, he argues, is indicative of a broader societal issue where mediocrity and failure are not only tolerated but celebrated, rather than demanding excellence and accountability.
