Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a lawyer from Lagos, appealed to the Take it Back Movement, one of the organizers of the #EndBadGovernance marches, to cancel the protest that was originally planned to last for ten days on the second day. In a statement released on Friday, Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and attorney for the Take it Back Movement, expressed sorrow that “fifth columnists” and “angry persons” appeared to have taken control of the protest, which had reached its second day. The senior attorney pointed out that the demonstrations against hunger and poor governance were intended to be nonviolent and well-organized.
Adegboruwa does not, however, speak for his organization, Dmilare Adenola, Director of Mobilization for the Take It Back Movement, told Channels Television on Friday. Conversely, Adenola stated that if the government did not comply with their demands, the demonstration might potentially last longer than ten days. “Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa does not represent us and is not our attorney. He is not hungry, even though he may have passed himself off as the solicitor. He is a well-to-do senior Nigerian advocate. Unlike those occupying the streets, he is not hungry. “We are awaiting a response and resolution of our demands from the government.
