#EndBadGovernance: Police Ban Procession in Rivers State
The Rivers Police Command has announced that participants in the "One Million Man protest," which is planned to wrap up the state's 10-day #EndBadGovernance demonstration, will not be allowed to exit Abali Park in Diobu, Port Harcourt, or the authorized Pleasure Park along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway on Saturday, August 10.
The Rivers Police Command has declared that, on Saturday, August 10, as part of the "One Million Man protest," which is being organized to conclude the 10-day #EndBadGovernance protest in the state, demonstrators will not be permitted to leave the authorized Pleasure Park along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway and Abali Park in Diobu, Port Harcourt. The reason for this, according to the Command, is that it has discovered plots by criminals who were earlier barred from participating in theft and other illegal activities during the chaos of the protest to utilize the "One Million Man Protest" as a vehicle for causing mayhem, stealing, and extorting gullible citizens of the state. The Rivers Police Command's spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, made this announcement in a press release.
A strong patrol strategy and close observation throughout their respective Areas of Responsibility (AORs) are mandated by the Commissioner of Police, according to SP Iringe-Koko and all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Tactical Team Commanders. According to her, their job is to capture and bring charges against any people or organizations who are discovered to be breaking the law or causing trouble. The Command claimed that in handling the protests over the last nine days, it has shown the utmost professionalism, which is why the state has not reported any injuries. "The Command is dedicated to upholding this record and will act without delay and with haste in the event of any law and order violation.
