#EndBadGovernance: Plateau State Government imposes 24 hour curfew on Jos-Bukuru Metropolis

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on Jos-Bukuru Metropolis by Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang in response to the conduct of thugs who were using the ongoing national #EndBadGovernance protest to terrorize innocent local residents. In a statement released on Sunday in Jos, Mr. Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang's Director of Press and Public Affairs, said that the curfew's implementation had prevented the breakdown of law and order in the region. He said that the action was taken to preserve public order and improve life security. He continued by saying that the curfew serves the interests of all Plateau State residents. Therefore, Bere exhorts everyone in the statement to completely comply in order to guarantee everyone's safety and well-being.

"Plateau State Gov. has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Jos-Bukuru metropolis, effective from Sunday, August 4, 2024, at midnight," he stated.

Governor Mutfwang made this decision after analyzing the acts of dishonest people who used the statewide protest to terrorize innocent citizens, in cooperation with state security services. The governor reported that these criminal elements broke into stores and eateries along Bauchi Road and Zololo Junction in Jos North Local Government Areas, taking valuables and food items with them. They were armed with daggers, machetes, and other hazardous weapons.

In the statement, Bere stated that Governor Mutfwang emphasized how the curfew is in the best interests of all citizens and urged everyone to abide by it completely to protect everyone's safety and well-being.

The governor has instructed security forces to guarantee that the curfew is strictly enforced throughout the region, the spokesman said. He issued a dire warning to anyone preparing to terrorize innocent bystanders: stop right away or risk facing the full force of the law. In order to avoid any possible disturbances to law and order, Mutfwang also urged the pertinent security services to continue being watchful and aggressive in their tasks. He thanked the people of Plateau State, especially the clergy, for their steadfast support of the government's initiatives and policies.
