EFCC counters 13 illegal miners in Nigeria

In the Asokoro neighborhood of Abuja, 13 suspected illegal miners were apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) together with five vehicles that were loaded with tons of coal and kaolin. 

Credible information that connected the suspects to the movement of tons of coal and kaolin in five trucks from Nassarawa State to a location in Kaduna State led to their interception and subsequent arrest.

The EFCC released a statement that stated, "The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation."
