Nigerian businessman and socialite, E-Money, has reportedly been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This follows claims made by controversial social commentator VeryDarkMan. E-Money reportedly in EFCC custody has sparked widespread discussions online.
According to VeryDarkMan, over 50 EFCC operatives stormed E-Money’s residence. They allegedly arrested him over a viral video where he was seen spraying pounds sterling on singer Flavour at Obi Cubana’s birthday party. He was purportedly standing on Naira notes, an act considered naira mutilation under Nigerian law. This incident is a major talking point, with E-Money reportedly in EFCC custody being the headline focus.

In a passionate video shared online, VeryDarkMan questioned the selective nature of law enforcement. He cited the recent case involving a member of the Okoya family, accused of similar behavior, yet allegedly not facing legal consequences. The fact that E-Money reportedly in EFCC custody while others aren’t has raised eyebrows.
He accused the EFCC of targeting Igbo celebrities, expressing concerns that such bias could further divide the nation. He also pointed out that the new EFCC head, reportedly transferred from Ilorin to Lagos, might be intensifying crackdowns on public figures.
Despite claiming not to admire E-Money’s flamboyant lifestyle, VeryDarkMan demanded fair treatment and E-Money’s immediate release. He emphasized that justice must be served equally. “If Okoya’s child can walk free, no other Nigerian should be arrested for the same offense,” he said. The controversy around E-Money reportedly in EFCC custody continues to unfold.

E-Money, known for his lavish lifestyle and contributions to Nigeria’s entertainment and business sectors, has maintained strong ties with musicians and industry stakeholders. His philanthropic works and business empire have earned him respect. Although, his wealth has also drawn scrutiny.
On the other hand, VeryDarkMan has grown into a bold voice for social justice and accountability in Nigeria. He often stirs controversy with his outspoken takes on national issues, corruption, and the elite class. The EFCC has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
