Drama Unfolds as Singer Portable Lands in Police Custody Over Death Threats

Popular Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable, has been arrested and now in police custody following allegations of criminal defamation and threats against Fuji icon Saheed Osupa. The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the arrest in a press statement, revealing that the action was taken after a petition was filed by Osupa, citing serious charges including defamation, threats to life, incitement, and the use of abusive language.

The arrest, carried out on the evening of April 13, 2025, occurred in Abeokuta, Ogun State, where Portable was apprehended by officers acting on a warrant issued by a Magistrate Court in Ilorin. Following his arrest, the singer was transported to Ilorin for further questioning and legal proceedings.

The police emphasized their commitment to due process and urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information as they work to ensure justice.
