DNC will send funding to all state parties to support down-ballot races

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) unveiled a groundbreaking $2.5m investment plan to fund state parties all over the United States to support more down-ballot contests before November. The recent funding has marked the first time that DNC has financed the state party, saying that the aim is part of a deliberate plan to boost the local races to defeat Republicans in deep red states.

This funding targets specific combatants such as about $400000 to fund efforts to mobilize Puerto Ricans in Florida, and about $100000 to reduce GOP domination in Missouri where Democrats are trying to peel off some state's legislative chambers. Even states that are staunch Republican territories such as Idaho will be receiving funding and about $70,000 committed to organizational positions within the competitive seats.

The DNC specifies that they are appointed to vie for states for the Democratic Party and to sustain state parties that will be increasingly organized, particularly in base-building states like Texas and Minnesota, beyond simply elevating funds. Some of the funding is also kept aside for getting organizers, especially from the Black, AAPI, Native American & young people.

Such a large-scale investment is in line with the Biden-Harris administration setting presented goals, starting with preserving the Democratic majority at all levels, from local to federal, continuing to protect voters’ rights; access to their rights, reproductive rights, etc.
