Diddy’s Mother Defends Him Against Sex Crime Allegations, Calls for Fair Trial
Janice Combs defends her son Diddy amid sex crime allegations, stating he deserves a fair trial and that the accusations are financially motivated
Janice Combs, mother of Sean "Diddy" Combs, released a statement defending her son against ongoing sex crime allegations. Diddy was indicted in mid-September on racketeering and sex trafficking charges and denied bail. Janice stated, “My son is not the monster they say he is, and he deserves a chance to tell his side.” She expressed her heartbreak over the accusations and the public judgment of her son before he could prove his innocence.
Diddy faces lawsuits from 120 additional accusers for incidents dating back to 1991. The indictment, unsealed on September 17, claims Diddy abused and coerced women for years, using his business empire to cover it up. If convicted, he could face 15 years to life in prison.
Janice acknowledged her son’s past mistakes, including an incident with ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, where he denied her abuse claims but later apologized when video evidence emerged. She believes that while he may not have been fully truthful about some events, it doesn’t mean he’s guilty of the severe charges against him. She argued that the new allegations are driven by financial motives, not justice, and stated that the federal government is unfairly using the Cassie settlement against him.
