Lawyers representing Sean "Diddy" Combs have requested a New York judge to compel prosecutors to reveal the identities of the individuals accusing the music mogul in his federal sex trafficking case. In a letter to a Manhattan federal court, the defense argued that Combs needs to know the identities of his accusers in order to adequately prepare for his May 2025 trial.

Combs, who has pleaded not guilty, remains in custody without bail following his September 16 arrest. His legal team has appealed for his release to home detention to facilitate trial preparations, but so far, judges have ruled that he poses a danger to the community.

The request to identify the accusers follows the filing of six new lawsuits on Monday, with the plaintiffs listed anonymously to protect their identities. Two women are identified as Jane Does, and four men as John Does, all alleging that Combs used his influence in the music industry to lure victims to drug-fueled parties where they were assaulted.

According to the plaintiffs' attorneys, over 100 accusers are preparing legal action against Combs. His legal team claims that the number of allegations is largely due to his celebrity status and wealth, arguing that a media frenzy is undermining his right to a fair trial. They also pointed to a previous lawsuit filed by his former girlfriend, Cassie, which was settled last November but continues to cast a shadow over Combs.

The indictment alleges that Combs used a network of associates and employees to abuse women, employing coercion, blackmail, and violence to silence them.
