Deeone blasts Nons Miraj for gifting Alax car instead of business capital
Nigerian comedian Deeone criticizes Nons Miraj for gifting a viral fish pie vendor a car, arguing that business capital would have been a more practical way to help him grow his venture and avoid financial strain.
Nigerian comedian Deeone has openly criticized fellow content creator Nons Miraj for gifting a viral fish pie vendor, Alax Evalsam, a brand-new car, sparking a heated debate on social media. While many celebrated Nons Miraj’s generosity in surprising the vendor, Deeone expressed concerns about the practicality of the gift.
In his post, Deeone argued that while the gesture was well-intentioned, providing business capital would have been a more effective way to support Evalsam's growing venture. He emphasized that a car, while seemingly helpful, comes with additional costs like fuel, maintenance, and insurance—expenses that could strain the vendor’s already limited resources.
According to Deeone, a lump sum investment could have allowed the fish pie seller to expand his business, improve product quality, or diversify his offerings. He added that though Nons Miraj also paid the vendor’s rent and moved him into a better apartment, the car gift, in his view, was "financial wickedness" as it may not generate immediate returns for someone still working to establish financial stability.
His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing that strategic financial support would have been more impactful, while others feel Nons Miraj’s gesture, regardless of form, was a kind act of generosity.
