Global Afrobeats superstar Davido is set to make history again with the release of his highly anticipated album “5ive“, dropping on April 18. Just 72 hours to go, the award-winning artist released an emotional and symbolic trailer that has fans worldwide talking.
The trailer offers deeper insight into what “5ive” represents. Describing the number five as “the rhythm of life” and “pillars that hold the world including the sky and roots,” the video ties themes of balance, legacy, and unity into the soul of the album. Davido, dressed in an all-white suit, appears surrounded by masquerades. This represents an artistic nod to African heritage and the album’s cover art.

In a powerful voiceover, Davido says: “Legacy is not what you leave behind, but what you breathe into the future.” He captioned his Instagram post with the same quote, thanking fans for their love and support as the countdown begins.
The trailer also gave fans a quick glimpse of the 17-song tracklist, sparking excitement online. Collaborations include “Titanium” (featuring Chris Brown). There is also “Holy Water” (with Musa Keys and Victony), “Offa Me” (featuring Victoria Monét), and “With You” (alongside Omah Lay). Other titles like “Anything,” “CFMF,” “10 Kilo,” and “Loverboy” featuring Dadju and Tayc hint at a diverse, global sound.
