Davido Delays New Album ‘5ive’ – Here’s the New Release Date

Arguably the biggest artist in the Nigerian music industry, popularly known as 001, Davido has provided an update on his new album, which fans around the globe have been eagerly anticipating. The release of his fifth album has been postponed by one month. Originally set to launch on March 15, 2025, the new release date is now April 18, 2025.

Davido did not provide a reason for the change in his new album’s release date, especially considering it was expected to drop in just 20 days. However, fans are eagerly counting down until the album’s debut.

The year 2025 has already started off busy for Davido. He secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards, nominated for Best African Song Performance for his contribution to Chris Brown’s song “Sensational.”

Additionally, Davido received nominations in five categories at the upcoming 17th Headies, including Artist of the Year. 

Ahead of the album release, Davido has already dropped two singles: “Awuke,” featuring Jamaican dancehall sensation YG Marley, and “Funds,” featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck. 

In a social media post announcing his next album, the hitmaker described it as one that comes straight from the heart.”THE JOURNEY CONTINUES in 2025 with my new album, 5IVE!! ‘5ive’ is set to feature a collaboration with Nigerian superstar Omah Lay, who stated in an interview that the song represents a “perfect partnership”. Adekunle Gold recently hinted at a potential guest appearance on Davido’s upcoming album, which his fans will hope follows the success of his record-breaking fourth album, ‘Timeless.’
