Daniel Etim-Effiong Speaks on Wife Toyosi’s Online Criticism and His Concern
Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong opens up about his feelings regarding the online backlash his wife, Toyosi, faces for expressing herself on social media.
Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has shared his concerns about the online criticism his wife, Toyosi, frequently endures for openly discussing their marriage on social media.
In a heartfelt conversation on Toyosi’s YouTube channel, Daniel revealed how deeply it affects him when people attack her for being authentic.
"From the first day I met you, I’ve known you to be bold and outspoken about your beliefs," he said to Toyosi. "If you love someone, the whole world has to know about it. I’m very different—reserved in my expressions—but you’re unapologetically out there with the things you love."
The actor admitted that watching people criticize Toyosi for her openness pains him. "When I see people come at you for just being yourself, it hurts me. You’re simply expressing who you are, and it’s disheartening to see people throw stones at that."
Daniel acknowledged that her boldness initially took some getting used to but emphasized his admiration for her authenticity. "I’ve come to love this part of you, even though it used to irk me in the beginning. Social media only sees a fraction of who you are, and I wish people would let you be."
He also expressed his concern for her emotional well-being, adding, "I know you shrug it off, but I worry if the negativity ever gets to you. I want them to back off and allow you to be yourself because I love you for who you are."
Daniel’s candid remarks have further endeared him to fans, with many praising his support for his wife.
