Dangote truck kills three Lagosians
LASTMA confirms three fatalities, including two students, following a tragic accident in Epe involving a Dangote truck that suffered brake failure, colliding with multiple vehicles.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed the tragic loss of three lives in an accident involving a Dangote truck (with registration number DCG-TM-028) and multiple vehicles in Epe. According to reports from the DAILY POST, the truck, descending from Ita-Opo, suffered a brake failure, leading to the fatal incident.
In an official statement on Monday, LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki, through Taofiq Adebayo, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, provided details of the accident. The truck lost control, colliding first with a tricycle (AGL 442 QC) and a stationary Toyota Camry near the Ayeyoro traffic light, before crashing into the Ayetoro Market Complex.
Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of the tricycle driver and two students from Manpower Technical School. Bakare-Oki confirmed that the deceased were respectfully taken to the Epe General Hospital mortuary, as investigations continue into the devastating crash.
