A Lagos State Magistrates' Court in Badagry has ordered the remand of 28-year-old Stanley Amos in the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl. Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya issued the order after Amos pleaded not guilty. The court also instructed that the case file be referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice and adjourned the case to November 25 for further proceedings, including a ruling on Amos’ bail application.
The incident, according to police prosecutor Ayodele Adeosun, occurred on September 22 at 3:00 pm in the Caroline Area of Aradagun, Badagry. The charges are based on sections 137 and 261 of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015, which deal with defilement and related offenses.
