Court grants VeryDarkMan bail with stringent conditions
Social media critic VeryDarkMan, charged with impersonation for wearing a police uniform in a viral video, has been granted bail set at N2 million with two sureties.
Social media personality Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been granted bail following his arraignment on charges of impersonation. The court set his bail at N2 million, requiring two sureties who must also provide their international passports as well as valid identification. VDM is accused of wearing a police uniform in a viral video, which led to the charges. The police condemned his actions, launching an investigation into the unauthorized use of their official attire. His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, shared the bail terms, which include the sureties residing within Abuja's municipal jurisdiction and verifying their addresses.
