Chidimma Adetshina Says She's Not Going Back To SA
After withdrawing from Miss South Africa amid controversy, Chidimma Adetshina embraces a fresh start in Nigeria, expressing her joy in staying and competing in Miss Universe Nigeria.
Chidimma Adetshina, once a promising contestant in the Miss South Africa pageant, has recently found herself at the center of a media storm. The young model faced intense scrutiny after being announced as a contestant, largely due to allegations of fraud and identity theft involving her mother, brought forward by the South African Home Office. The controversy ultimately led to Chidimma withdrawing from the competition, a decision that marked a significant turning point in her journey.
Despite the challenges in South Africa, fate had different plans for Chidimma. Shortly after her withdrawal, she received an invitation to join the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, an opportunity she eagerly embraced. With her sights set on a new horizon, Chidimma returned to Nigeria, her father's homeland, to compete and explore new possibilities.
Since her arrival over a week ago, Chidimma has found a renewed sense of purpose and belonging. In a candid interview with Cool FM Nigeria, she expressed her delight at being back in Nigeria, a place that now feels more like home than ever before. "I think it’s safe to say I’m not going back," she said with a smile. "It’s been amazing. I’m not even looking forward to going back to South Africa. I just want to explore more. I want to stay longer and see what happens next."
