Beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina has shocked fans by announcing her departure from the world of pageantry, citing the emotional toll of her journey to Miss Universe. The Nigerian-born star, who made history as the first runner-up at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant and earned the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, shared her decision during a heartfelt interview on Silverbird TV.
Reflecting on her experience, Chidimma opened up about the challenges she faced, including being shamed by South Africans who questioned her nationality after she withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition to represent Nigeria.
“Finishing in the top two at Miss Universe still feels surreal,” she admitted. “But the truth is, pageantry has been a traumatic experience for me. There were moments I wanted to quit, even during the contest. I’m done with it all. I need to focus on myself, rediscover who I am, and prioritize my education.”
