Chibuike Amaechi Calls for Action Amid Nigeria's Economic Crisis
Former Minister Chibuike Amaechi expresses frustration over Nigerians' response to the economic crisis, urging citizens to demand accountability from leaders
Former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi shared his deep frustration over how Nigerians are reacting to the ongoing economic crisis, especially with the rising cost of living. In a recent interview with Igbere TV, he mentioned that he finds it hard to afford essential items, like diesel, because prices have skyrocketed.
Amaechi said, "People should be angry because they see a group stealing their money and aren't doing anything about it. I'm really upset with the citizens for not taking action." He encouraged the youth in Nigeria to become more involved in tackling the economic issues.
He also criticized the timing of recent political campaigns in Edo State, questioning how politicians can campaign when people are struggling to afford basic necessities. "How can anyone campaign in Edo State while the public is suffering?" he asked. He noted that some people can't even afford diesel anymore because it’s too expensive.
Having served nearly eight years as transportation minister during Muhammadu Buhari's administration, Amaechi is now urging the public to hold leaders accountable and question the state of governance.
