Burna Boy Shares Moments at Met GALA ’25 with Tems and Ayra Starr

The 2025 Met Gala, held on May 5 at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrated the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honoring the elegance and stylistic legacy of Black Dandies across the diaspora.

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy shared on his Instagram, the process his team took in preparing for the prestigious event and made a striking appearance in a custom oxblood red wool tuxedo paired with an eelskin cape, designed by Ghanaian-British designer Ozwald Boateng. The ensemble paid homage to African heritage and Black dandyism, aligning perfectly with the night’s theme.

Joining him were fellow Nigerian artists Tems and Ayra Starr. Tems captivated attendees in a custom Ankara-inspired gown, while Ayra Starr embraced the pixie cut trend, showcasing her fashion-forward sensibility.

Burna Boy also hosted an electrifying after-party at the Boom Boom Room, delivering a high-energy performance alongside DJ Black Coffee and artists Central Cee and Shaboozey. The event featured a vibrant mix of glamour, music, and camaraderie, reflecting the celebratory spirit of the Met Gala’s star-studded night.
