Burna Boy becomes Nigerian artist with most charting songs in US Billboard history
Burna Boy surpasses Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries, now just one song away from breaking the African record held by Seether.
Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has set a new milestone in the US music scene, overtaking fellow artist Tems to become the Nigerian artist with the most charting songs in US Billboard Hot 100 history. This achievement came with the debut of Coldplay's “We Pray,” featuring Burna Boy alongside Little Simz, Elyanna, and TiniStoessel, which entered the chart at No. 87 this week.
With this new entry, Burna Boy now boasts six songs on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Tems, who has five. Wizkid, who was the first Nigerian artist to debut on the chart, has four entries, while artists like Rema, CKay, Fireboy, Davido, and Lojay each have one.
Burna Boy is now just one song away from breaking South African band Seether’s record, which would make him the African artist with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries of all time—a feat that would further cement his global influence.
